Alec has carved another stone for 'Migrating Stones' series by the poet Alyson Sarah Hallett.
Alyson washed the stone in the Chalice Well, Glastonbury, before it travels across Spain.
New works commemorating benefactors were displayed at the opening of Winchester College Treasury. Alec has carved a beautiful stone bench outside the Warden's Stables building and etched glass panels for the interior now converted into a state-of-the-art museum for the College's collections.
The Treasury is open to visitors: for admission information see www.treasury.winchestercollege.org
Visitors from The University of the Third Age squeezed in around our sculptures in the Gallery Barn to listen to Alec's talk 'Craftsmanship in the 21st Century'.
After the talk Alec was presented with a delightful surprise of a cake to celebrate his birthday! Thank you everyone!
Installation of Fiona's stone sculpture head at Avebury Manor.
Fiona was inspired by one of the standing stones in the circle at Avebury. She chose a rough piece of sandstone which echoed the shape of the ancient standing stone and carved the sculpture by hand. Her sculpture is named Awen after a Druid godess meaning Inspiration.
