Fiona & Alec Peever Lettering & Scuplture

Hand carved Memorial Headstone with sculpture detail

Alec has just completed this beautiful memorial headstone. He carved the lettering by hand into a large slab of Hornton stone - a gorgeous mottled blue green grey coloured stone quarried near Banbury. The cross and initials were gilded with 22ct gold leaf and a small salamander was carved creeping up the side of the stone, chosen as a specially significant symbol for the family.

On the day that Alec installed the headstone in the Churchyard, he found a small live salamander creature as he prepared the ground.
