New Commemorative Stone Tribute to Nurses

Alec was commissioned to create this plaque as a commemorative tribute to the nurses and staff of the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford.

The second stage of the project is to carve a sculpture with poetry also to be installed near the plaque at the Radcliffe Infirmary building.

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge unveils plaque at China Centre, Oxford University

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge unveils Alec's plaque to commemorate the opening of The Dickson Poon University of Oxford China Centre Building, at St Hugh's College. Princess Katherine, Duchess of Cambridge was forced to cancel on the morning of the event and the Royal couple chose to formally announce her pregnancy. Certainly a day to remember!

Alec's contemporary design is hand carved in Welsh Slate and gilded with 22ct gold leaf.

New Commemorative Plaque for Oxford University


A slate plaque by Alec was unveiled at The Old Indian Institute to commemorate the dedication of the building to the Oxford Martin School, Oxford University, remembering the vision and generosity of Dr James Martin.

The hand carved welsh slate plaque included Dr Martin's words of encouragement 'We can make any kind of world we want'.
